I am Maartje Peeters-Eikmans, an illustrator and creative maker based in Well, in the north of Limburg, the Netherlands. I create colourful, narrative illustrations filled with atmosphere, character and attention to detail. Images that make memories tangible and celebrate meaningful moments.
My work ranges from personal commissions and festive culture to illustrations for the children’s and youth sector. I specialise in Vastelaovend/carnival-themed artwork, translating the warmth, humour and spirit of the celebration into lively illustrations full of recognition and emotion.
I also create illustrations for children and young audiences. Thanks to my background in youth care and pedagogy, I enjoy combining creativity with educational insight to create images that connect with the imagination and world of young people.
Whether it is an editorial illustration, educational material, a personal portrait or a festive commission, I always aim to create imagery that is not only visually appealing, but also tells a meaningful story.
