‘Passend of inclusief?’ | redactionele illustratie

How do you portray appropriate education? The article explores the origins and issues underlying the rising number of pupils attending special education. This image depicts the Dutch pigeonhole culture. Pigeonholes into which pupils are placed and how difficult the prejudices are to shake off. I wondered what those boxes actually look like. What it feels like to be in one. Or being pigeonholed. And there must be someone out there exploring how to get out again. Commissioned by DIDACTIEF, I illustrated the cover and three illustrations about Appropriate Education.

genre : Newspaper & Magazine

technique: Linocut

Editorial illustrator for (trade) magazines and publishers | Showing the essence of a text in powerful images | Linocuts | Playful and to the point | Complex topics As an illustrator I depict complex subjects when a photo is not enough. An illustration brings your text to life, strengthens a text and makes it more accessible. My linocuts are powerful; playful and to the point. The structure and small imperfections gives the image an unique and lively look.
