Mijn illustraties zijn meestal verhalend van aard. Daarbij voel ik me vaak als een regisseur van een toneelstuk: Hoe kan ik een en ander zo in beeld brengen dat een verhaal tot leven komt en het de lezer raakt. Ik werk daarbij niet in een vaste stijl of techniek, maar zoek naar de beste oplossing voor het te illustreren thema en medium.

I like to tell stories through images. Sometimes for children, sometimes for an adult audience. Sometimes fictional, sometimes non-fictive. To me, both are exciting and switching from one to another adds variety and spice to my work.
